About Us

North Carolina Association for Healthcare Quality was founded in 1989, initially a state chapter of the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ). NCAHQ has been independent of NAHQ since around 2015. NCAHQ was founded by members of the quality profession, and they created a vision for improving healthcare quality statewide for North Carolina. We are still thriving today; our organization is composed of healthcare professionals working in and involved with healthcare and related fields. Our members encompass a wide range of healthcare professionals including but not limited to Quality Improvement, Patient Safety, Patient-Centered Care, Utilization Management, Accreditation, Risk Management, Case Management, and Health Information Management.

Mission

To promote excellence, professionalism, professional development, and continuous improvement in healthcare quality for the people of North Carolina. To provide quality education opportunities that further quality care and to support Healthcare Professionals in their quest to obtain or maintain their Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ).

Vision

To be a source of education and a resource for all healthcare quality professionals and to be recognized as a leader in healthcare quality partnership and growth for North Carolina.
